Wyatt's peds office called me at work this morning to let me know that we had an appointment with an ophthalmologist in Nicholasville this afternoon. They were all very nice at the office and the doctor was quick and efficient which was great since we basically had to pin him down and pry open his sore eye. There is definitely no tissue damage to the eye ball itself and he expects a complete recovery with no long term effects. We are going back to see him in 3 weeks to make sure Wyatt's eyelid heals properly and doesn't droop into his line of vision.
The bruise on his eyelid is getting darker and darker and he just looks more pitiful each day. I guess it has to look worse before it gets better. The scratches are healing nicely and hopefully will start to disappear in the next few days.
We also heard from our attorney today who is trying to hunt down the judge's clerk to find out if the judge has everything he needs to schedule a court date. Looks like we are going to have some fabulous finalization photos...taking the baby to the judge with a black eye ~ classy!

Well, at least he'll look like a real Eastern Kentucky native. Glad to hear he's doing well.

He might look a little rough but he can still charm you with that smile!! I bet it was a challenge for you all to hold him down and look at his eye. I'm glad to hear the eye doctor says it will heal OK.
Love, Mimi xxxxxxxooooooooooooo
