Happy Halloween!

Thanks to Julie, Wyatt had a very cool costume this year for Halloween. He was an Imagination Mover (Playhouse Disney show for those of you who aren't familiar). He enjoyed seeing the other kids out on the street and some of them even recognized his costume. Mimi came up to visit and brought Wyatt some Halloween treats as well...some markers and Handy Manny coloring pages, some crackers, raisins and juice boxes.Wyatt with his neighbor girl(friends)

Elmo!

We were pretty busy today but at a much more relaxed pace. We got up and went to the grocery this morning and then came back home to have lunch and then Wyatt napped for a couple of hours before it was time to see Elmo! We bought tickets for Sesame Street Live and our seats were on the floor, in the 3rd row on the aisle and it was a great show! Wyatt loved it and asked if Elmo was coming back every time he left the stage. Luckily, Elmo was involved in just about every song so Wyatt got plenty of face time with the little red monster. All of the characters came down into the audience to see the kids and also danced on the floor right in front of the stage.
Cheesing before the show-made friends with the little girl behind us and her dad shared his popcorn with Wyatt (after he ate 1/2 a box of goldfish that I brought)Elmo dancing right in front of usRosita, up close and personal...
Cookie Monster came to Wyatt too but I didn't get a good angle that time
At intermission, a guy walks down to front and center stage carrying this batch of Elmo balloons...$10 EACH! After 15 minutes, he had roughly 15 left...easily collected $1000 in no time flat- YES WE RESISTED!This is the shot that reminds me why I paid $75 to see Elmo on a Sunday afternoon- Pure Joy!

Fall Family Fun

Friday night Wyatt and I drove up to Shelbyville to attend the fall festival at Aunt Ray-Ray's school. Wyatt played a few games such as the duck pond, bowling, fish pond, and lollipop pumpkin. We had hot dogs and chili for dinner and met some of Ray-Ray's co-workers and students. We spent the night with Ray-Ray and Jay and then spent Saturday morning watching cartoons. We went to the grocery to get some pumpkins to carve and Uncle Jay found the perfect pattern while we were gone. He drew the pattern free-hand and cut it out for us too. Wyatt wasn't too keen on sticking his hand in the goop. We roasted the pumpkin seeds for a snack before we headed out to have some pictures taken at Science Hill in downtown Shelbyville. The mother of one of Rachel's former students now does professional photography so she set up the appointment for us. Unfortunately Wyatt did not get a full nap in before the photo shoot and he was not in the most cooperative mood. I'm sure she got at least a few great shots because it was a beautiful fall day in a beautiful outdoor location. Pop, Mimi and Uncle Matt met up with us afterward for dinner at the Bistro in downtown Shelbyville.

Pumpkins, Smumpkins!

As you may recall, last year on this very day we had our very first trip to the ER when Wyatt fell off a pumpkin cart at Huber's in Indiana. We had planned to meet up with Aunt Hope today for a little pumpkin fun but she didn't feel well when she woke up so Wyatt and I called up Aunt Rachel to see if she would meet us in Versailles at Boyd's Orchard. We met there right at noon as they opened and that was a great decision because that place filled up fast! He climbed on the pirate ship and mastered the slide, then Ray-Ray pushed him on the big boy swing for awhile. He had fun running around the playground and then we caught the hay ride back to the corn maze. It was a gorgeous day to be outside, the sun was just warm enough to make up for the fall chill in the air. We had a blast and best of all... no trips to the ER!!!

Dance Party USA

Katie came over to play with Wyatt again Friday night while her mommy and daddy went to Big Blue Madness. Katie and Wyatt played very well together. They colored some pictures, watched some Thomas and Snow White and we had mac and cheese for dinner and pumpkin sugar cookies for dessert. They liked dancing together to "I Got A Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas.

Dancing, Decorating and Drawing

I believe it was Friday night when I took pictures of Wyatt's dance party. He's throwing down some artistic moves along with dangerous but controlled drop and rolls. We're trying to capture some of his new dance steps on video but for some reason he's not as lively when we have the camera on him. He also continued the dance party last night with Katie when she and Julie stopped by to visit. They had fun dancing and chasing each other around in circles. You wouldn't even know that he stayed home sick from school on Monday.
Wyatt woke up in the middle on the night Sunday with a nasty cough. I stayed home with him to keep an eye on him and make sure it wasn't anything serious. He was in a great mood all day long and we lounged around watching many, many, MANY episodes of Thomas the Train, Imagination Movers, Jungle Junction and Dinosaur Train. I only caught him with a fever once and he was rambunctious and mischevious as usual so we sent him back to school for the rest of the week.
On Monday we also ventured out to the grocery to pick up a few items for the rest of the week. I got him a Wyatt-sized pumpkin and he colored it with his Slick Stix crayons.
His teachers tell us that he loves to dance to Backyardigans music at school and he also loves to list all the names of the Thomas trains when he is laying down for naptime. I'm not sure if that is a stall tactic or if he's just trying to keep his mind sharp even while unconscious.

School Pictures

Today we purchased Wyatt's very first school pictures. They turned out great, but we already have a family session scheduled two weeks from now so we had to limit ourselves. I just bought a sheet of wallets for each of these two poses so the scanned version is a little grainy because it is blown up larger.

Sunshine Saturday

We had a pretty lazy weekend with no major plans. We woke up Saturday to a gorgeous fall day! Aunt Hope came out to visit and took us to breakfast at IHOP. We enjoyed some delicious pancakes and then headed back home to play outside. We took several toys outside in the yard for Wyatt to play with but he really just loves to run back and forth across the yard. He's getting pretty good at running with and kicking a ball, he's surprisingly coordinated for his age. I definitely see soccer in our future. He also loves riding his tricycle but it was kind of hard to get going in the grass so he mainly just pushed it around.
