Gotta Splash!

We spent the afternoon in Georgetown at the water park with Steve, Jessica and Jayca. Wyatt absolutely loves the water and had a blast splashing around.

And we also found a tooth that broke through the gums today. It's the bottom left middle tooth and I felt it poking when he put my finger in his mouth to chew on. We layed him down and looked in there and we can actually see it has cut through the gum. I can't wait to see how fast this one comes up and how quickly others follow.

Studio Portraits

The ones above are those we actually purchased but I am going to post some more of the good ones below. He was really getting tired toward the end and I wish we had gotten some better ones in the second outfit, but he was a trooper and we still spent plenty of money!!

6 months old

Today is Wyatt's half birthday! He's still up partying at 9:44 with mommy and daddy. We have his studio pictures scheduled for tomorrow at Portrait Innovations and we hope to make it to the pool sometime this weekend too.

What's Up Doc?

Wyatt had carrots for the first time today and boy are they messy! He seemed to really like them and ate them up fast. He also just started doing something new this weekend. He waves back! He's not doing it all the time, but he's consistent enough that we know he's imitating us waving to him. We'll try to get a video of that up soon.

I added a link to another picture website on the right side of the blog page. I have started uploading new albums to Shutterfly because Photobucket became too complicated. For right now the site is password protected (until I take the time to disable that part). Enjoy!

First Trip to the Zoo

There's nothing like a last minute, spur of the moment, road trip with a 6 month old. We had already decided to have a quiet weekend at home. But our friends, Steve, Jessica and Jayca were planning a trip to the Louisville Zoo on Saturday and I couldn't decide if I wanted to go or not since the weather was questionable. But on Saturday morning, about 10am, my mom called to see if we were coming and she said the weather was nice there and she and my brother wanted to come with us to the zoo. Michael already had things at home he needed to tend to so I knew I would need the extra help. Well my brother ended up going to golf instead so I called my sister to see if she wanted me to pick her up on my way to Louisville. She did want to join Wyatt and me so we three met my mom at the zoo.
The weather was beautiful and despite some of the best animals being temporarily relocated to other zoos, we had a great time. The splash park for toddlers was alot of fun and Wyatt and Jayca had so much fun splashing around.
Wyatt enjoyed the splash park but then slept through most of the exhibits. It was just a fun day outside in the sun with friends and family. Here's my new favorite picture of Wyatt in his Indiana Jones hat. (disclaimer: I have already been informed by Michael that this hat is not actually an Indiana Jones style hat)

After a long day at the zoo, Wyatt and I decided to just crash at Mimi and Pop's for the night and head back Sunday morning. On the way back home, Michael called and asked if I wanted to go on a date with him. He called up Aunt Hope and asked her to come stay with Wyatt while we went to a movie. We went to see Get Smart and then Michael cooked a yummy dinner for all of us before Aunt Hope had to go back home. We had a nice afternoon out and we were glad Aunt Hope was able to come hang out with our little man.

Peas Please

Yesterday we gave Wyatt peas for the first time. We didn't video it because he's not that exciting when trying new foods anymore. He loved the peas and didn't make any faces at all. Only a couple more vegetables to try and then we are on to the sweet fruits. I'm not sure how he's going to like those though because he seems to have an aversion to sugary tastes. We started him on Zyrtec for his allergies last week and he doesn't like it one bit. I wonder how much he even swallows because it all seems to come right back at me. The Zyrtec smells really sugary and grape flavored. There is a sugary tasting medicine that the doctor gives him with his shots and he hates that stuff too. He gags on it where most babies eat it right up. I guess he doesn't have a sweet tooth like mommy. Although technically he doesn't have ANY teeth right now.

Wyatt's First Diaper Dip

Today was Michael's first Father's Day and we celebrated by letting him sleep in for awhile. Then we went to Red Lobster for lunch since we were already in Louisville with my family. After lunch we got a call from the Rattermans inviting us over to a pool party. We spent a couple of hours over there and Wyatt just loved the water. Ella and Wyatt splashed and played together again today. After all the fun in the sun we were all tuckered out so we headed back to my parents' house for a nap and then came back home this evening. The swimming videos should be showing up on the video bar on the right side of the screen. And here are some pictures of our fun day.

Party Time

Today we celebrated the wedding of our friend Katie and her new husband Nick. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast! Wyatt was a party animal and hung in there most of the day. He had a few cat naps but he was so good all day long. Here are some pictures from today.

Ella flirting back.

This kid was tearing up the dance floor and Wyatt was fascinated by him. He was kicking his feet and would have been out there with him if he could.Daddy and Wyatt dancing.

Froggy Love Daddy

Before I forget...

This one is for Christina...we couldn't actually get him to throw any gang signs while wearing this. Apparently he only does that when wearing plaid and khaki pants.
And this one is for Catherine that got him this cute little orange outfit! (That's his serious model pose. He's trying to show range in his portfolio.) And look how well he's sitting up on his own now!

Baptism Day

Wyatt was Baptized today at Pax Christi Catholic Church after 11am Mass. My grandparents, Mom, Dad, Matt, Rachel and Javi and Carol came to Mass with us and then Aunt Hope, my Aunt Mary Kaye and Nina, and Steve, Jessica and Jayca met us afterwards for the ceremony. Father Edelen and the pastoral associate Melissa Holland were ready and waiting for us after church at the Baptismal font in the back of church. It was a short and sweet ceremony but it was so nice to have some many family and friends there with us. Wyatt actually fell asleep toward the end of the ceremony and he smelled so good from the Christening oils on his forehead. If you really want to see the whole ceremony, Uncle Matt videotaped for us and it will be posted on youtube sometime tomorrow. I'll post a link when it is uploaded.

Here are some still photos from the church in the meantime...
Afterwards we headed back to our house for all kinds of yummy food. We had quite the spread and I am looking forward to munching on the leftovers this week! (Especially the strawberry cake) We had about 25 people in the house and since it was 90+ degrees outside, it was about that hot inside too! Our A/C unit downstairs just couldn't handle all the people, but we had plenty of cold drinks and ice cream to help cool us down.

Here is a picture of Wyatt with his Godparents. Michael's best friend Javi and my sister Rachel.

We had a wonderful day of food, friends and family. It doesn't get much better than this! Now I'm exhausted and I must go to bed. I'll try to post more pictures this week!
P.S. To our friends and family that were with us today, send me pictures if you took some. I'm usually the one taking pictures and I obviously didn't get to take any at the church and I'd love to see what everyone took.

All better...

Mimi came up this morning to stay with Wyatt so Daddy could go to work. I called and was able to get an appointment for 5pm so I just left work a little early and came home to pick up Mimi and Wyatt. We didn't have to wait long at all and we got to see the doctor (as opposed to the PA who is not my favorite). First they weighed Wyatt and he was a hefty 16lbs, 4oz! Then the doctor came in and listened to his chest and told us that his lungs were completely clear and the cough is just allergy drainage. She wrote him a prescription for Zyrtec which is what mommy and daddy take. I didn't think he was old enough to have that yet, but since he is in his 6th month (and quite a healthy size at that) she said it was fine to start him on this and hopefully he will feel much better, very soon. She also gave us prescriptions for some topical cream and a moisturizing gel for the eczema on his face. We've tried just about everything that has been recommended and nothing seems to fix it permanently so maybe this will do the trick.

Mimi even got to feed Wyatt some green beans tonight and he did pretty well with them. I think we'll move on to sweet potatoes sometime this week. Stay tuned for new video!

So Wyatt is headed back to daycare tomorrow and Mimi will head home in the morning so she can get Pop on a plane to Denver for the rest of the week.

Weekends are too short

We had a nice, pretty relaxing weekend. Wyatt woke up Saturday morning with a cough but didn't seem to feel bad other than the occasional coughing fit. Since he didn't have a fever and wasn't acting any different than normal, we decided to go ahead and go out shopping. We had some stuff to return and stuff to buy so we spent most of the day hopping from store to store.

Today we took it easy and stayed close to home most of the day. We drove to Shelbyville this evening to meet my family for dinner to celebrate Aunt Rachel's birthday (was the 29th). She picked a yummy Japanese grill restaurant and we had a delicious meal! Mimi took pictures at the restaurant so if she'll email me those, I will post some when I get them.

Mimi is coming up tomorrow to stay with Wyatt since we think the doctor might want to check him out tomorrow. I don't think they can do anything for him since he's not 6 months old yet, but we will go ahead and take him in if they want to see him. I'll be curious to see how much he weighs now. Hopefully he'll be clear to go to daycare on Tuesday and he and Mimi can spend some quality time together tomorrow afternoon.
