First Trip to the Zoo

There's nothing like a last minute, spur of the moment, road trip with a 6 month old. We had already decided to have a quiet weekend at home. But our friends, Steve, Jessica and Jayca were planning a trip to the Louisville Zoo on Saturday and I couldn't decide if I wanted to go or not since the weather was questionable. But on Saturday morning, about 10am, my mom called to see if we were coming and she said the weather was nice there and she and my brother wanted to come with us to the zoo. Michael already had things at home he needed to tend to so I knew I would need the extra help. Well my brother ended up going to golf instead so I called my sister to see if she wanted me to pick her up on my way to Louisville. She did want to join Wyatt and me so we three met my mom at the zoo.

The weather was beautiful and despite some of the best animals being temporarily relocated to other zoos, we had a great time. The splash park for toddlers was alot of fun and Wyatt and Jayca had so much fun splashing around.

Wyatt enjoyed the splash park but then slept through most of the exhibits. It was just a fun day outside in the sun with friends and family. After a long day at the zoo, Wyatt and I decided to just crash at Mimi and Pop's for the night and head back Sunday morning. On the way back home, Michael called and asked if I wanted to go on a date with him. He called up Aunt Hope and asked her to come stay with Wyatt while we went to a movie. We went to see Get Smart and then Michael cooked a yummy dinner for all of us before Aunt Hope had to go back home. We had a nice afternoon out and we were glad Aunt Hope was able to come hang out with our little man.
