Spike

Now that Wyatt finally has a decent amount of hair, we have fun with the shampoo in the bathtub. (He's not always as amused as we are)
Wyatt has been a little under the weather this week. He was sent home from daycare late Tuesday with a fever. I called Mimi to see if she could come stay with Wyatt on Wednesday but she couldn't do it so she volunteered Uncle Matt. He got up early Wednesday morning and drove up here to hang out with his favorite nephew for the day! Wyatt had so much fun showing Uncle Matt how to build with blocks and reading his favorite books.

Today Michael stayed home with Wyatt and took him to see the doctor. The doctor said he had an ear infection in one ear and prescribed an antibiotic to make him feel better. After the doctor's appointment, Michael and Wyatt came by my office to have lunch with me. All the ladies I work with were able to see how big Wyatt is getting. He even babbled a little bit for them, but refused to say any of his words yet. If I ask him to say "mama", he says "dada". What a stinker! He says "uh oh" and "book" and "ball". And we are starting to get the feeling that he understands way more than he lets on.

Daddy's Boy

I took some pictures tonight of Wyatt playing in the living room and also playing on his new "jungle gym", Daddy!!!

Not much going on this week. Wyatt is back on track with his sleeping pattern after a rough time of teething last week. He had all 4 eye teeth cut through the gums in the last week or so. We could tell he was miserable there for a bit, but he seems to be doing much better this week. I think he is only lacking one molar to cut through the gums before he has his full set of baby teeth and one year molars. He's still drooling like crazy since the eye teeth are still pushing onward and upward!

My Funny Valentine

Wyatt had his Valentine's Day party at school today so I baked some mini cupcakes for him and his friends. When I dropped him off this morning, there was a big tent in the middle of the room. I knew he would head straight for it and he did. There were two other little boys already in the room so they followed him into the tent. I wish I had my camera this morning and now that I think about it, I should have whipped out my camera phone. Those three little adorable boys were sitting in a huge pink Disney princess tent, happy as can be! The teacher said that they were waiting for their princesses!

When we got home this afternoon, we opened his Valentines from his classmates and I took some pictures of him with his decorated box. He also received Valentines in the mail from Mimi and Pop and Grandma and Grandpa Keinath!
I also got my Valentine gift early since Wyatt couldn't wait to give it to me. Wyatt asked Daddy to go by Godiva Chocolates and get me a box of truffles. He also made me an appointment for an hour long massage at Ecotage tomorrow morning! My boys really spoiled me this year!

Martha freakin Stewart!

Pictures

Some recent pictures that I thought were cute:

This one is blurry but he was cheesing so hard I just had to post it.
Riding on Uncle Matt's rocking puppy...it's held up well, 24 years later. The puppy seems to have lost an eye along the way. But what can you expect, he's 168 in dog years! All together now, "Aaaawwwwww!!!!" He's single ladies (I'm talking about Matt, not Wyatt)

Sunshine Sunday

Today was absolutely beautiful and quite warm considering it is the beginning of February! We met Steve, Jess and Jayca and Aunt Hope at Joseph Beth Booksellers this morning for "Baby and Me" activities. Jessica and I just came across this weekly program and decided that we would give it a try. They said it was a larger than usual turnout this morning and I would say there were probably about 20 kids and then one or two parents per kid. We sang songs with hand motions and then afterwards they had a play area blocked off for our Valentines Day activity. They had some plaster paris mixed up and heart shaped molds for handprints. We made several attempts at the handprint but between Wyatt not wanting to open his hand and the plaster setting too fast or too slow, I ended up just writing his name on the heart. When we got back home, it was just too pretty to go inside so we got Wyatt's wagon out and took him for a ride. Daddy pulled him around the neighborhood and then a couple of exciting fast rolls down the driveway. He had lots of fun and I can't wait until it gets warm enough to do this on a regular basis.

Whoa Snow!

I was bound and determined to get some snow pictures yesterday but when I heard on the radio that the wind chill was -2 degrees, I decided that would be irresponsible parenting. I was going to try again tonight but Wyatt wasn't in a great mood when we got home. He must be having a growth spurt because this kid is eating us out of house and home. Last night he didn't want to go to sleep and was screaming his head off so I brought him downstairs at 11pm and gave him a cereal bar. He wolfed it down and we went back upstairs and he laid down to sleep immediately with not a bit of fussing.

His daycare sheet today said that they did ribbon dancing, music sticks and Valentine's hats. I just had to take a picture of Wyatt wearing his hat, but he wasn't all that thrilled about it. I would say the look on his face in the picture below accurately describes his enthusiasm about wearing it.
