Tuesday with Mimi

Well I got a call late Monday from daycare letting me know that Wyatt had 4 runny diapers and would not be allowed at daycare on Tuesday. I immediately called up Mimi to see if she could come down to keep him for us. She jumped in the Quest minivan and came to the rescue! I told her that Wyatt just felt like he didn't get enough quality time with Mimi this past weekend so he demanded some extra time.
I called the doctor Monday as well and they said to go ahead and bring him in on Tuesday. I met Mimi and Wyatt at the doctor's office this morning. The doctor agreed that Wyatt seemed fine and his lungs sounded great and his ears were clear so there really wasn't any apparent problem. I was curious to see how much he weighed and he was 14lbs, 8oz. Just 19 days ago, at his last office visit he was 13lbs, 8oz. That's a whole pound in less than three weeks. I have no idea what the average rate of gain is, but man he seems to be packing it on steadily!
Next Tuesday is his 4 month checkup and shots so I'm sure we'll have more stats to report then!

4 Months Old!

Our little tiny baby is getting bigger before our eyes!
He had quite an eventful weekend as well. Friday night we drove to Louisville and Mimi, Pop and I went to the Balloon Glow at the Fairgrounds. I decided not to take Wyatt because it was too windy so he stayed with Daddy. It was a bust anyway, they only had 3 balloons up and my allergies really kicked in and made me miserable. We didn't stay long.

On Saturday morning we got up early and headed downtown to cheer on our friend running in the Derby Festival Mini Marathon. Mimi stayed in the car with Wyatt while we waited on the side of the street for 12,000 runners to pass. Some people we knew saw us before we saw them. Uncle Jay came by and we cheered for him and then tried to make it downtown to the finish line to see him cross it. Unfortunately with traffic blocked for the race, we had to park several blocks away and hoof it downtown. Wyatt slept in his stroller during all of that commotion. The weather was starting to clear, so it was a nice walk and good exercise. We didn't make it down there in time, but we did find Uncle Jay refueling by one of the tents on Market Street. Despite a knee injury, Uncle Jay did a great job and finished strong!

We came back home on Saturday afternoon and got ready this morning to attend Daddy's first softball game with his work team. It turned out to be a very nice afternoon and Wyatt and I cheered on the whole team. They didn't win, but Daddy did score a run and got a couple of good hits. We are looking forward to his game next Sunday. Here are Daddy and Wyatt tuckered out on the couch afterwards.
And now here are the 4 month shots you've been waiting for!

Holy Toes Batman!

Apparently toes are the newest coolest toy for 4 month olds! He loves to reach for his toes and rock back and forth.

Aunt Hope came by tonight to visit Wyatt. She ate dinner with us and fed Wyatt and even gave him a bath!

Silly Monkey

Wyatt wore an adorable outfit today that has a monkey and a banana and says "silly" on it. It totally suits him! He also had some play time on his belly where he slobbers and drools and chews on his fingers. Daddy is getting a little ahead of himself with the shoulder rides, but at least we know that daddy's hair tastes good.

Exersaucer

Love it! And Wyatt does too. I actually need to raise it to level 2 because he can stand flat footed on the first setting. I took some video of him playing too, but Michael refused to show me how to post it on youtube tonight, so we'll have to wait until I can learn how to do it myself! But here are some pictures that I do know how to post. We also went for a walk tonight since it was so pretty out while Michael made a fabulous chicken fetticine alfredo!

Fun Times

We had quite a busy weekend but it was fun and not all that stressful, so you can't beat that! We went to visit our friends Steve and Jessica and Jayca on Saturday in Georgetown. Jayca let Wyatt play with her exersaucer since she's a big girl and doesn't need it anymore. Wyatt had so much fun with it, I decided to go ahead and put his together. I spent a good hour putting that sucker together tonight and wouldn't you know, he fell asleep before I finished. We'll be sure to try it out tomorrow!

Wyatt and I left from Georgetown to spend the night in Louisville at my parents' house. We got up Sunday morning and drove to Owensboro for a wedding shower. First we stopped by Memaw and Papaw's house since they hadn't seen Wyatt in a couple of months.

We got to visit for a little over an hour before we headed out to the wedding shower for Katie with the Immaculate ladies. Wyatt got to see his girlfriend Ella again, but things were so hectic I didn't even get a picture of them together. We had a nice time and Wyatt behaved himself, smiled and flirted with all the ladies. He enjoyed being the only "man" in attendance! I was glad to show him off to all of our Immaculate friends since his baby shower was cancelled due to snow.

And just because I love this picture of Wyatt and Daddy!!!

For Aunt Hope and Opa

And I forgot to write that Wyatt rolled over from belly to back for the first time on Monday evening. He will even prop himself up on his elbows and knees for a short time. It won't be long before we'll be chasing after him!
It was so beautiful this evening, we went for a walk down to Lowe's and back. It's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow!

Baby of Steel

So did I mention that one of the adorable outfits I found for Wyatt at Once Upon a Child was a Superbaby outfit!?!?! Anyone that knows Michael, knows he is a big comic book fan and especially loves Superman. I think this might have been the best $3.50 I ever spent!

Great Weekend!

Well the entire family made it through the weekend without being sick! Wyatt was sent home from daycare on Thursday with a low grade fever, but by the time Michael picked him up and took him to the doctor, there was no fever and the doctor said he just had leftover cold symptoms. Still, since he had a fever at daycare, he is banned for 24 hours. Since he couldn't go to daycare on Friday, my mom drove up Friday morning and stayed with Wyatt so Michael could go in to work a little late.

And in case you didn't notice his running weight totals on the right side of the blog, he went from 12lb,10oz on 3/31 to 13lb,8oz on 4/10. Since he got over his stomach bug, little man has been sucking down over 30 oz of formula a day! I think he feels better! Keep your fingers crossed that he will actually be able to stay an entire week at daycare without getting sick again...

We went shopping yesterday at the Mall and spent too much money, but we all got some new spring clothes. It was a beautiful day albeit a little chilly. We went to church and then to Applebees for dinner, per our usual routine. Today we made our grocery trip and loaded up for a couple of weeks. There were some great deals on diapers, but we were afraid to buy any because I think Wyatt will move up to the next size before we can finish out what we have. I'm betting he will be 15lbs by his next scheduled 4 month appointment.

Messy Little Man

We started trying to feed Wyatt rice cereal on Monday. It is getting increasingly better each day. He actually swallows more and more each day but he still doesn't understand taking the food off the spoon. It's more like a contest between me shoving it in his mouth and him trying to push it back out and me wiping it up and shoving it back in his mouth. This goes on for a few more bites each day. He was even in a good enough mood for me to snap some pictures tonight.

The upswing

Well this past weekend didn't go much better than the previous one. This time it was only me that was sick so that was an improvement. Michael jumped in and took good care of Wyatt while I slept and doused myself in cold medicine. I am finally coming out of this sinus infection and Wyatt and Michael seem to be healthy so hopefully we can all stay that way for awhile.

The warmer weather today was very nice and Wyatt was in such a good mood tonight. We decided to try to start rice cereal tonight so he can learn to take food off a spoon since baby food is just around the corner at the end of the month. We set up his high chair and strapped him in. I mixed up a tablespoon of rice and mixed some formula in. At first he seemed to like it, he swallowed the first two bites, then he was done with that. I gave him the formula I had already mixed in the bottle to wash down the third and forth bites he refused to swallow. Then every time I pulled the bottle out he screamed his head off and wouldn't eat anymore of the rice. He's been sucking down nearly 30 oz a day here lately so I know he needs more substance on his belly. All we can do is try again tomorrow and see how the rice goes. We'll try to get a video posted this week too.

Sorry no new pictures...I've been too sick to pick up a camera. But now with the nice weather, I hope to get some outdoor pictures tomorrow.
