Wyatt's 1st Birthday!

After Wyatt's pictures on Friday we drove to Cincinnati to visit Aunt Hope and did not get back home until 11pm. Nonetheless we were up early on Saturday preparing for Wyatt's party. We got all the decorations put up and waited for the guests to arrive. Aunt Rachel brought the Mickey Mouse cakes, a little one just for Wyatt and a big one for everyone else. I highly recommend that you watch the newly posted videos on the right side of the page. The whole video was broken up into two pieces and the first part is actually the second video so watch that first. Wyatt tore into his cake and was absolutely covered in red icing and chocolate cake. He definitely liked it and ate more than a few handfuls. We let him enjoy the mess for a while and then took him upstairs for a quick bath and change of clothes while the crowd downstairs took the high chair apart and hosed it down.

Once he was cleaned up and changed we brought him back down to open birthday presents. He was soon worn out and took a nap while Michael's mom and sister made rice and beans to go with the fajitas that Michael grilled outside. We all had a wonderful Mexican style dinner and then settled in to play several competitive games of Scrabble until nearly 1am.

I've never seen anyone enjoy their birthday cakes as much as Wyatt did. I love the pictures with him eating his cake and then the next picture with him smiling with cake on his face. Now that is ONE HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Love and kisses,
Mimi and Pop
