It has been such a busy week, I am just now getting a chance to sit down and write about it. Opa and Abuelita (Michael's parents) arrived late Tuesday evening after a 1400 mile drive. Michael and Wyatt spent Christmas Eve with them while I went to work. We decided to make the 5pm Childrens Mass that evening so Aunt Hope drove up to meet us at church. I think Wyatt enjoyed watching all the kids during Mass but did not want to sit still and ended up taking a walking tour around church during Mass. It was a very nice service but the priest nearly got knocked out by a 20 foot Christmas tree in the middle of a prayer. Luckily he was about 3 feet out of the range as the tree that was set up at the front of church toppled forward toward the alter. A bunch of men ran up there and pushed the tree back up and over to the side only to have the tree slide down the wall in the other direction a few minutes later. Thank goodness no one was hurt but I would have liked to see all the faces and gasps in unison as the priest was looking out at us.
On Christmas morning we got up and sorted through the presents and watched Wyatt try to open a few of his own. He didn't stay interested very long but took a few minutes to play with each new toy as we took it out of the package. My family came over around lunch time and we had quite the feast and opened yet more presents.
We also started Wyatt on whole milk on Christmas Day. He took right to it and still doesn't seem to miss the formula at all. The best Christmas present to mommy and daddy is the gift of not spending $25/week on formula! I won't complain about $3.50 for a gallon of milk!
