Growing Up

I can't get over how quickly Wyatt is growing up. It seems like just yesterday I was changing diapers and carrying him on my hip. Now he's got a big boy bed, a buzz haircut and is starting to grasp the finer art of backtalk. As much as I can do without the attitude, it is so hilarious to see him mirror our behaviors and sayings. Michael and I will have to be on our best behavior because this kid doesn't miss a beat!

We had to put down our cat Tuxedo last week and at first he didn't notice that he was gone. But then a day or two later he went looking for him and we had to explain that Tux was sick and went to kitty cat heaven. Today I told Wyatt to leave Jack alone because his ear was bothering him and he didn't feel good. Wyatt asked if Jack was going to see Jesus like Tux did. I told him no, not for a long time and he was fine with that.

He's playing soccer this spring and he's really pretty good at it. To my horror, he is known as "The Enforcer" of the team which means he's a little free with his hands. If there were yellow and red cards in pee-wee soccer, he'd already have a collection to his name. I haven't figured out how to get through to him yet. He knows he isn't supposed to push but when he's out on the field and focused on the ball, all the pre-game pep talks just go right out the window.
