Weekend Getaway

We had a mini vacation this weekend, a trip to Cincinnati with Mimi and Pop. On Friday afternoon we headed north to check in to a hotel on the river and get ready for the Playhouse Disney Live show at US Bank Arena. Aunt Hope also drove up to meet us for the show, and we all sat in a row together with Steve, Jessica and Jayca and Jessica's parents as well.

On Saturday morning we got up and had breakfast before heading over to the Newport Aquarium. Aunt Rachel drove up to hang out with us for the day. Wyatt surprised us at breakfast when he drank his milk right out of the curly straw that came with his drink. We didn't know he knew how to use a straw but he somehow mastered it within a few tries. The aquarium was really cool and Wyatt enjoyed the second half of it since he slept through the first half. One of the best parts was the dive show where the audience was able to talk to one of the divers in the shark tank. She told us about the fish and sharks and turtles in the tank with her.Fish make me sleepyWyatt woke up just in time for the "Frog Bog" since we all know that Wyatt loves Froggies!

After the Aquarium we met up with Javi and Carol for lunch and then a trip to a magical wondrous place... IKEA!!! If you've never been there, you have to go, it's an experience! After all of that walking we called it quits for the day and headed back to the hotel. Wyatt had fun splashing in the hotel pool for a bit and then we retired to the room for an evening of NCAA basketball. On Sunday morning we came back home just in time for Wyatt to take a nice long afternoon nap. After his nap it was so beautiful that we played outside and went for a wagon ride around the neighborhood.
