Ice and Snow

This week has been quite an adventure! Tuesday was Michael's birthday and we woke up to a thick coating of ice on everything. Wyatt's daycare was delayed by 3 hours but I still had to get to work on time so Michael waited for the daycare to open and then headed out to work himself. We all ended up leaving work early that day because there was more snow and ice headed our way and the roads were beginning to get dangerous. Most of the surrounding areas got a few inches of snow while we just got ice and more ice in Nicholasville. Wednesday morning we woke up to a mess on the roads but again, I had to get to work on time while Michael's office was closed and Wyatt's daycare was closed. I only ended up working half a day because another round of heavy snow blew through on Wednesday morning and quickly dumped another two inches on the roads. We never lost power, but we did lose cable and internet for most of the day Wednesday...but I can sure deal with that as long as we have power and heat! We still have quite a bit of ice and some snow on the ground but we all went to work and school as usual on Thursday and Friday. Wyatt still hasn't really been able to play in the snow since it is really more ice than anything in our backyard. It's not good snowball material and if he laid down to make a snow angel he might puncture a lung on the reverse icicles that have formed on the grass. We are headed north to Ohio tomorrow to visit Javi and Carol and to help Aunt Hope move to Georgetown so I'm sure we'll see quite a bit more snow up there. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow which should melt alot of the ice but now I hear that we are in for 6-10 inches of snow on Monday! I'll believe it when I see it! Hope everyone out there is safe and warm!

Here are two new art projects that Wyatt brought home this week.

I hope the weather people are wrong about the Monday forecast! I'm sure Hope will appreciate your help with the move this weekend.
